Connectivity / Wiring
Our team of experts started deploying LAN wiring solutions before Cat5 cable or the patch pannel was even invented. Being involved in connecting computers since 1988 takes us back further than most data wire pullers in the US. This is not something we wish to focus on because the market is so saturated with these type of "experts" but our loyal clients understand that we are very good at installing Cat6, Cat7 & fiber optic cabling.
Unified Messaging
Windows NT came out around 2000. Before then we (the Johnson team) were already installing desktop faxing and email readers. Such fun little features. PC screen pops from Caller ID was very exciting in 1998 (24 years ago!). That all worked it's way in to UM (Unified Messaging). Everyone had to have it and Robbie Johnson was the first to sell it in SC for sure. Then Windows NT migrated to Windows 2000 and ooops. We had to wait forever for a patch to get all our clients' PC integration working again. Today we only support browser based "UC" Unified Communications from carrier based Hosted VoIP developers.
VoIP
Reading trade mags in 2000 about VoIP and how SIP was going to just make everytiing easier. All the pictures of the cool IP phones and going to the Cisco demos where Cisco claimed they were going to put everyone out of business in the phone industry. In 2001 IP Centrex was introduced as Hosted VoIP. This was the perfect answer to combate the Cisco challenge but all tradiaonal telephone techs screamed NO!! In 2005 Robbie sold the largest IP Centrex / Hosted VoIP of it's kind to the Spartanburg Library System. Hosted VoIP over MPLS supporting 150 Polycom SIP phones.
School Communications
Bogen Communications and Comdial Corporation (the last Amercan made PBX manufacturer) joined hands in 1994 to engineer the perfect "all in one" communication solution for schools, hospitals & large campus communications. Alerts, panic buttons, message boards, 911 alerts, district wide monitoring & recording. Today VoIP actually has driven this school intercom technology in a different direction. More focus on teaching and less on protecting. Cloud Networx still offers the Bogen "Engineered Sound" soulton and always will. Putting safety first.
Overhead Paging
Paging / Public Address (PA) systems have always been a large part of our business. There are not many paging technicians in our local market that understand how to service and install the larger paging environments. During the 80's & 90's companies moved away from overhead paging using beepers and radios. We now find that our loyalty to the paging horn is paying off as the workforce, now more than ever, requires clear and reliable announcements, notifications & alerts for a safer environment.
30+ Years
Cloud Networx was launched 12 years ago. Our founder Robbie Johnson started in communications when he was 13 working for his family business Johnson Communications. That was 1983, then he joined fulltime in 1988 and took up sales in 1994. Over the next 15 years he helped put many local phone vendors on the map. Today most of the phone system vendors in our area that were around for 25+ years, are now out of business or have changed their business model. This left over 3500 businesses to find a new phone system hardware support team. It seems to have been perfect timing for Cloud Networx to emerge.
Debt Free
The most important aspect of owning a successful small business is owning everything you need to operate. Cloud Networx has zero lease, mortgage or rent, we own all our services trucks and our suppliers are always paid on time. Recently Robbie purchased another 18 acres of his grandfather's farm and moved Cloud Networx back to the land where the Johnson team started 40 year ago.
